About Us

The college syllabus alone isn’t enough for our careers. Many students find themselves joining private courses after graduation just to learn industry-relevant tech stacks.

Developer’s Community aims to bridge that gap.

We’re a student-led initiative creating a self-learning culture within our college. Alongside academics, we encourage every BIT student to develop in-demand skills. We serve as a hub for students sharing what they know and helping each other out. Through weekly sessions, workshops, events, and group projects, we expose students to diverse tech stacks and practical knowledge.

We operate in two parts:

1. Public Sessions
  • Weekly developer sessions (open to everyone) where we share our knowledge and discuss coding practices.
  • Occasional 3-5 hour long workshops on Saturdays.

These public sessions provides exposure for unseasoned students who are just trying to start out and are unsure about where to start, who to ask when stuck.

2. Core Team
  • Each year, dedicated members are selected to join our core team.
  • We identify an existing problem and start building a project to solve that problem collaborating with our experienced teachers and BBA students who will lead our project as a project manager.
  • We follow standard software engineering methodologies similar to how projects are managed in a real-world company.
  • With weekly meeting every Tuesday and Friday, we share our progress and try to solve any problem we face together.

This builds a strong community of developers who are better equipped to tackle real-world coding challenges, stay ahead of industry trends, and develop a robust skill set that will prove invaluable in their future careers.
